Terminator: Genisys is coming to Android and iOS devices in 2017, letting players take part in the ultimate battle of man against machines.
I think it’s safe to say that the newest Terminator movie was a tad underrated.
Sure, Terminator: Genisys didn’t break barriers the same way Terminator 2: Judgment Day had, but it was much better than the two sequels which came after it. The references to the first two films were very satisfying for huge fans of those movies, such as myself.
In any case, the plans to turn Genisys into the start of a new trilogy have been all but scrapped, and Emilia Clarke has confirmed that she has no interest in reprising the role of Sarah Connor. It wasn’t a bad film, but it apparently just didn’t do the phenomenal numbers that everyone was hoping for.
Still, Genisys will live on in the form of a new iOS and Android mobile game from Plarium, which Bloody-Disgusting reports will be out early next year. The game will be a clan-based MMO title set that the very start of the “Robo-Revolution” (when the machines first rose, if you will). Players will be able to choose between playing as the humans of the Resistance, or the machines of Skynet, battling for the control over the earth.
Plarium has already reached mass success in the MMO world with Vikings: War of Clans. Leonard Frankel, Plarium’s Head of Business Development, noted that their decision to take on the Terminator franchise had everything to do with the fact that they are all fans that grew up with the films.Credit: Plarium / Skydance
Whether you want to save the world or watch it burn, just pick your side accordingly and you’ll have your chance. Are you going to be a part of the Resistance, or are you planning to terminate every last one of them?
