Death Kiss is more Death Wish than Eli Roth’s remake

The official teaser trailer for the Death Wish inspired film Death Kiss will have you thinking Charles Bronson has somehow returned to make another movie.

Wait… so you mean that’s not really Charles Bronson?

Recently, an official remake for the revenge thriller Death Wish hit theaters. The Eli Roth film stars Bruce Willis as a vigilante taking the law into his own hands after a home invasion destroys his family. Unfortunately, it’s not proving to be the hit the original film was, as it holds a measly 17% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

What was it about the remake that’s turning people off? For fans of the original films, maybe it was the lack of a mustache. Willis, a bald and clean-shaven man, just didn’t look enough like Bronson for the film to feel like a true remake. So leave it to the indie film Death Kiss to correct this mistake!

The first teaser trailer for Death Kiss has just hit the internet, and it straight up looks like a new Death Wish film. Its lead character is the spitting image of Bronson, and truth be told, it’s hard to believe that it’s not. Though they’re not calling him Paul Kersey (this isn’t an official remake), the film still feels so much more like a Death Wish remake than the Willis version now showing in theaters.

Check out the trailer below.

Official synopsis:

“A vigilante with a mysterious past tries to rid a city of crime as he protects a young mother and her child.”

There’s no official release date for Death Kiss at this time, though it’s expected to be available sometime this year. As always, stay tuned.
