Friday the 13th game’s Grendel Map revealed in leaked footage

Friday the 13th: The Game will never again add any new content, but newly-released footage reveals what the unreleased Grendel map looks like.

Watching this video certainly feels like a tease…

As every player of Friday the 13th: The Game is now aware, all new content for the game has been permanently axed. Blaming the current legal battle involving the rights to the franchise, the game developers have opted to move on to other projects. While bug fixes and server maintenance will still be addressed, it’s been verified that we will never see any new content added to the game — even if the lawsuit is resolved.

This was tremendously bad news for fans of the game following its progress and anticipating new content. Jason X material had already been confirmed to be upcoming, with a playable Uber Jason and a Grendel map. These were nearly complete and set to be added when the decision was made to nix all new content. We were then left to only imagine what it’d be like to explore the Grendel ourselves, but thanks to some leaked footage, we can see exactly what it looks like!

The Facebook page Friday the 13th: The Game France has uploaded a video showing an exploration of the Grendel map. Over 20 minutes is shown featuring a Jason player venturing throughout the spaceship. I will say that it’s a little odd aesthetically to see wooden dressers reminiscent of the 1980s on a futuristic spaceship. Still, seeing the map in action is undeniably rad as hell. It’s disappointing to know we’ll never be able to explore it ourselves!

Friday the 13th: The Game – Grendel Map (Full visit)

This video doesn’t give us a glimpse at Uber Jason. However, we can get a good look at him ourselves in the game itself by visiting the Virtual Cabin. It’s a shame the content didn’t make the cut, but I don’t want to complain too much. At least they gave me Roy.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available to purchase on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Are you still playing the game despite the lack of all new DLC? Let us hear about it in the comments below.
