Monster-Mania Con 44: Nick Castle “The Shape” comes home

Nick Castle “The Shape” in the original Halloween and the recent incarnation of the Carpenter classic is returning to Monster-Mania Con in Hunt Valley, Maryland this October.

Nick Castle otherwise known as “The Shape” in the original Halloween and also in the 2018 version will be “coming home” to Monster-Mania Con in October. The actor/writer/director will be appearing Oct. 4 through Oct. 6 in Hunt Valley, MD.

His association with John Carpenter started in 1974 when he appeared uncredited as the alien in the director’s comedic sci-fi film, Dark Star. He continued his association with Carpenter as his writing partner on the script for Escape from New York.

The Last Starfighter, an iconic space adventure starring Lance Guest was directed by Castle along with the beautiful and moving The Boy Who Could Fly which he also scripted. Hard to believe that the man who started out in horror pictures as a terrifying serial killer would end up penning the screen story for the whimsical Spielberg production of Hook as well as the inspirational August Rush.

Not only is Nick Castle familiar with horror and sci-fi but he is also responsible for directing such comedies as Dennis the Menace with Walter Matthau, Major Payne with Damon Wayans and Mr. Wrong with Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Pullman. Castle is a very versatile talent.
