10 horror movies to watch on Shudder right now

If you're having trouble finding something to watch and you're craving a good horror movie, then this list is for you. Shudder just dropped some new movies to watch for the month of July, and there are some pre-existing ones that deserve some attention.

1. The Ugly Stepsister (2025)

Elvira moves in with a new family and meets her gorgeous step sister. She is immediately jealous and is still hoping that she can win the prince's heart by altering her appearance in really gruesome ways. Elvira will stop at nothing to get her fairytale ending, even if she has to go through excruciating pain.

2. The Ruins (2008)

A group of friends go on vacation and stumble upon ancient mayan ruins. As they uncover more they realize that the vines have a mind of their own and will fight back. With nowhere to go and no chance to escape, they have to fight to survive.

3. Revenge (2017)

Jen is hoping to enjoy a romantic getaway with her boyfriend, but is rudely interrupted by his friends. Things take a turn for the worst after they assault and try to kill her. Unfortunately for them, she survives in order to enact her revenge.

4. Grafted (2024)

A Chinese exchange student is hoping to fit in at her new University. In attempts to gain popularity she wants to be beautiful by using her father's skin grafting research. She takes the research too far by performing disgusting and dangerous experiments.

5. Cujo (1983)

Cujo is a nice, well behaved dog until he gets rabies from a bat. The rabies begins to make him crazy and extremely violent, even murderous. Cujo is set loose on the town and the kill count continues to rise.

6. Audition (1999)

A widower is ready to get back to dating, so he enlists the help of his filmmaker friend. He puts on fake auditions in order to find the girl he wants to date. The girl he chooses is not what he thought and her troublesome past comes back to haunt him.

7. Hush (2016)

A deaf writer who chose to seclude herself in the woods finds out she's not so alone after all. A masked killer is stalking her and waiting to strike, but she can't hear him coming.

8. V/H/S/85 (2023)

A collection of videotapes is full of disturbing found footage. The videotapes contain 5 different stories with an ominous ending to each.

9. The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)

A father and son are tasked with the autopsy of a Jane Doe. As they try to unravel her story, the more they cut into her the more they regret it. Jane Doe is not all she seems to be, and is hiding a very dark secret.

10. The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

A group of students are filming Deborah and her struggle with Alzheimer's for their thesis. Each day that they film her, she gets worse and worse. Soon they realize it may not just be the disease that is making Deborah act this way.
