Remakes: The Good,And The Bad Pt. 1

3. Dawn Of The Dead (2004)
Finally here’s one I have seen, just because I’m tired of the current trend of zombies, doesn’t mean I don’t like some of the movies. With that being said George A. Romero’s Dawn Of The Dead is a classic. I was as skeptical as anyone when I heard of the impending remake. Thankfully it surprised us all and was almost as good as the original. The original came out in 1978. Notice the almost 30 year gap between the two? This one improves on the original by adding more survivors in the mall: including a woman who is pregnant. So there is much more emotion involved. My favorite part of the movie has to be shoot the zombie celebrity lookalike. Then there’s the fact of the zombie baby, long before Z Nation existed. People seemed to think that was a new concept when they seen it in the show. Sorry I have to bust their bubble. Plus with more survivors in the mall there is much more conflict to add new life into an already awesome existing movie. If there ever really is a zombie apocalypse, the local mall is most definitely my choice for best place to be. If there isn’t a mall available a nice back up would be a Wal Mart Super Center. The way things are going a real life zombie apocalypse wouldn’t surprise me at all. It’s better to be safe, than sorry. Anyway Dawn Of The Dead may be my favorite remake on this list.
