Joseph Shelton – Christine (1983)

It doesn’t help that not only I’m a Stephen King fan, but I’m also a car guy, born and raised. I love old cars, especially Detroit steel, and I have a weakness for old Mopars like the leading lady of John Carpenter’s 1983 release Christine, based off the Stephen King novel of the same name.

There wasn’t any goblins or ghouls to worry about, no leering spectres. Rather, this devil-red 1958 Plymouth Fury is the main villain of the show, scaring the daylights out of the cast of the movie and a younger version of myself. But it was fun, though. I had no nightmares or anything like that. I enjoyed the idea of a sentient car that feeds off of rage and obsession to keep it going. Christine did the trick for me.
