The Walking Dead: 6 Characters the Show Did Better

2. Morgan Jones

In the beginning, there really wasn’t much difference between the two different versions of Morgan.  Along with his son Duane, Morgan basically saved Rick’s life and pointed him in the direction of his family.  Even in the comics, he played an important part of Rick’s story, and I remember being happy about him finally reuniting with Rick and joining the group just in time for Alexandria, only to be bitterly disappointed when he soon after had an abrupt, lackluster death.

It’s not even a comparison to say that Lennie James’ version of Morgan is much better.  He was the focus of Clear, the Season 3 episode where he turned Rick’s hometown into a zombie-proof fortress— something that didn’t happen in the comics.  On TV, he’s also developed some amazing combat skills, dispatching of the Wolves without breaking a sweat.  Here’s hoping he doesn’t arrive in Alexandria just to die immediately as he did in print, as he’s one of the best characters on the show.
