Sons of the Devil

This is a fairly new title, the first issue was published mere months ago on May 27th by Image Comics after creator Brian Buccellato was able to realize his story with the help of a Kickstarter campaign. Though so far most of the works on this list have consisted of a lot of monsters and supernatural entities, Son of the Devil is a psychological horror, following the life of Travis, a 30-year-old orphan who discovers that he’s the son of a cult leader. The story spans three decades and delves into the psychology behind killer cults, the nature of family, and the darkest corners of the human mind.

As Image Comics describes it, “it’s True Detective and Orphan Black meets Helter Skelter.”
