The Walking Dead: 5 Characters Killed Way Too Soon

5. Axel

As a fan of the comic books, I couldn’t wait for Axel to be adapted to the TV series.  He had a unique look, funny dialogue, and a catchy catch phrase he’d frequently spit out (“You follow me?“).  Actor Lew Temple brought the character to life with his friendly personality, and although his screen time was limited, I quickly became a fan.

Perishing in much the same way as he did in the comics, Axel took a sniper shot straight to the head just when he was starting to fit into the group.  I can take solace in the fact that he didn’t see it coming, nor did he have to deal with the horrors on the outside of the prison gates, but I’d trade nearly anyone else just to hear him ask if we were following him one last time.
