2. Merle Dixon

You knew Merle was bad news from the moment you saw him. Quickly revealing himself to be a violent, obnoxious racist, some viewers had no sympathy for Merle when he was handcuffed to a roof and forced to cut his hand off. He only got worse when he eventually joined up with the Governor, murdering many men for the Woodbury leader and nearly getting Glenn killed.

He redeemed himself in the end by giving up his life to take out as many Woodbury soldiers as he could, and it was gut-punching when Daryl later found him as a zombie. While he might have been a bad guy, though, Merle was still one of the most entertaining characters on the show, and I wish he would have stuck around for a while longer.
