‘The Walking Dead’: Each Season’s Saddest Death

Beth Greene (Season 5, Episode 8)
Ever since Beth was first introduced in Season 2, fans of The Walking Dead were calling her a “redshirt”, expecting her to die at literally any moment. She surprised everyone by sticking around for years, surviving encounters with walkers, Woodbury, and the Governor’s new army.
After the fall of the prison, we got to learn a little bit more about Beth through her encounters with Daryl. With his training, he also helped her become an expert zombie killer by even showing her how to use the crossbow. With Andrea— a major player in the comics— prematurely killed off on the show, some fans suspected that Beth may slide into that spot as the blonde badass of The Walking Dead.
Even after she was kidnapped by the corrupt cops from Grady Memorial Hospital, it seemed like she was all set to return to the main cast by the middle of Season 5. She had really come into her own by standing up to the people who were holding her captive. But just like that, a bullet through the brain ended Beth’s run on the series. It was rough for Daryl, Maggie, and the others— but for the fans, as well.
