10. Jamie Lee Curtis turned down a cameo appearance.

It could be argued that Jamie Lee Curtis is the most famous scream queen of them all. Having starred as Laurie Strode in John Carpenter’s masterpiece Halloween, Curtis would go on to super-stardom in the following decades, finally coming full circle by appearing on the Fox series Scream Queens.

Despite getting her career started in horror, though, Curtis was trying to move on from the genre by the late 1990s and early 2000s. She wanted nothing more than a small role in Halloween: Resurrection, which was granted. And perhaps that’s also why she turned down a part in Scream 3.

I’m not saying I blame Curtis, here. Even that small part in Resurrection turned out to be a mistake as that movie was horrid. The script for Scream 3 was certainly not much more impressive, and for someone trying to leave the genre, I can’t really list any good reasons for her to say “yes”.

Had Curtis agreed to be in the film, she’d have played the part of former actress Bianca Burnette. That role ultimately went to Carrie Fisher of Star Wars fame, which isn’t so bad as far as second choices go. But there is still a link between Curtis and Scream 3
