2. Brayker’s mysterious key can also be seen in Bordello of Blood.
As you now know, the plan always was for the Tales From the Crypt films to be a trilogy. While none of the followups, either the original scrapped ideas (Dead Easy and Body Count) or the actually finished movies (Bordello of Blood and Ritual), were intended to serve as actual sequels, they were all going to be linked together through one mysterious artifact.
That would be Brayker’s blood-filled, key-like artifact, which somehow keeps the demons from attacking the humans. Brayker explains to the others that the key is one of seven made by demons after God had created the Earth. If the demons retrieve all seven, they will be able to take over the world, and Brayker has the last one.
The twist? It’s filled with the blood of Jesus Christ. No joke.
So while no characters (other than the Crypt Keeper, of course) would show up again in any of the sequels, Bordello of Blood did feature a cameo of sorts by showing Brayker’s key. It was the official link between the two movies, but it was not shown in Ritual.
