9. Sidney knew who would play her in the fictional ‘Stab’ film

It’s always nice when sequels to great films add in easter eggs for the fans to look out for. Acknowledging the movie that came before it is just another way to link the films and make the sequel feel more legitimate. One such instance that I only recently discovered was the way Sidney had accurately predicted something about the Stab movie-within-a-movie.

In Scream, Tatum (played by Rose McGowan) asks Sidney at one point, “If they make a movie about you, who’s gonna play you?” Without missing a beat, Sid replies, “With my luck, they’d cast Tori Spelling.” Sidney surely meant that in jest, but little did she know just how right she would be.

So when the fictional film Stab, based on the “real life” Woodsboro slayings Sidney had survived, was shown in Scream 2, guess who played the part of Sidney Prescott? That’s right, Tori Spelling. It’s something that most fans of the films may not have put together, even after watching them multiple times. Unless I’m the only clueless one.

Spelling isn’t the only celebrity to have a cameo of sorts by way of the fictional Stab movie, however…
