Horror on Netflix: July 2016 Additions

The summertime is never a great period to find horror movies to stream on Netflix, with Halloween still so far away.

But maybe these July additions to Netflix will help.

It’s always nice to have another excuse to watch Big Trouble in Little China, and seeing it pop up on Netflix today is as good a reason as any. The rest of the options feel like slim pickings, but there are a couple of titles I haven’t seen yet that I do want to check out.

Below is the full list of horror (and horror-ish) titles coming to Netflix this month, along with their imdb synopses.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986)

An All-American trucker gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in Chinatown.

Blade 2 (2002)

Blade forms an uneasy alliance with the vampire council in order to combat the Reaper vampires who feed on vampires.

Death Race 2 (2010)

Explores the origins of the first “Frankenstein” car driver, Carl “Luke” Lucas, who died in a race at the beginning of the first film.

Death Race 3: Inferno (2013)

Convicted cop-killer Carl Lucas, aka Frankenstein, is a superstar driver in the brutal prison yard demolition derby known as Death Race. Only one victory away from winning freedom for himself and his pit crew.

Pandemic (2015)

Pandemic is set in the near future, where a virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. There are more infected than uninfected, and humanity is losing its grip on survival. Its only hope is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Lauren (Rachel Nichols) is a doctor, who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead a team to hunt for and rescue uninfected survivors.

Twisted (2004)

Jessica, whose father killed her mother and committed suicide, is a police officer. While investigating a murder, she finds herself in the center of her own investigation, when her former lovers start being murdered.

Ghostheads (2016)

Holidays (2016)

Rebirth (2016)

A white-collar suburban father Kyle (Fran Kranz) who is surprised at his office by long-lost college buddy Zack (Adam Goldberg). Zack is as wild and crazy as ever, brimming with excitement about the self-actualization program he’s just finished called Rebirth. He talks Kyle into going on a weekend-long Rebirth retreat,handing over his keys, wallet, and phone. Thus begins his journey down an bizarre rabbit hole of psychodrama, seduction, and violence.

Stranger Things (2016)

When a young boy disappears, his mother must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.

The Wave (2015)
