2. There is also a Jason X novel series
Did you think the comic books based on the film was unusual? Well, that’s not the only written sequel to the film. There are actually several novels produced in the Jason X timeline which continue the series, if you’re one of those fans who feels as if the film is underappreciated and you wanted to see the plot move forward.
Starting in 2005, Black Flame, a subsidiary of Games Workshop, began releasing young adult novels based on the movie. Starting with a novelization of the film itself, a total of five separate books were published in the timeline. Presumably, that means that there were a lot of people out there actually reading these books back then.
The first two books in the series, Jason X and Jason X: The Experiment, were written by Pat Cadigan. Nancy Kilpatrick wrote the third book, Jason X: Planet of the Beast, and returned to write the fifth and final book, Jason X: To the Third Power. The fourth book, Jason X: Death Moon, was written by Alex Johnson.
As with the comics, I have only recently discovered the existence of these novels, and I haven’t managed to track them down or read them yet. I’ve got to admit, my curiosity about them is getting to me.
