5. Adrienne was named after the first film’s lead actress
The characters in Jason X, for the most part, have some pretty goofy names. We’ve got people like Crutch, Geko, Waylander, and Stoney, just to name a few. But one of those who had a normal, and oddly familiar, first name was the blonde girl named Adrienne.
In Jason X, Adrienne serves as Professor Lowe’s intern, and has the unfortunate assignment of dissecting Jason’s body. She would become the first victim of Jason in the year 2455, as the mama’s boy didn’t waste any time reverting to old habits the second he started to thaw. We’ll talk more on her death scene in a minute, but first, let’s stop for a second and point out the Easter egg in her name.
The name of the “final girl” at the end of the first Friday the 13th movie was Alice Hardy, but do you know who played her? An actress named Adrienne King. Naming a character Adrienne in Jason X was a nod to her, recognizing the very first film in the series. Calling her Alice would have been perhaps just a tad too obvious, but it’s nice to see King getting a shout-out in a later film.
