4. Adrienne’s death scene was tested on Mythbusters

While we’re speaking of Adrienne in Jason X, I think most of us could agree that she has probably the most memorable death in the movie— save for the holographic teenagers, of course. While working on Jason’s body, the undead serial killer springs back to life, grabs the poor girl, and freezes her face in a pool of liquid nitrogen. It only gets worse after that when he smashes her head, shattering it into a million tiny chunks of ice.

Sure, the scene raises some questions. How would Jason know what liquid nitrogen was or how it worked? Maybe he’s just a quick learner. In any case, it was pretty damn brutal, and really set the tone for the rest of the film. But is it realistic?

Mythbusters sought out to test that for themselves, and, apparently, Adrienne’s death would be unlikely to play out that way in real life. On the show, the Mythbusters team failed the recreate the same results in their experiments, but it’s a lot of fun to see them try. So the science isn’t behind Jason on this one, but if you can get over him being an undead super zombie in the future, then this probably isn’t that big a deal.
