Friday the 13th: Jason vs Jason X (Avatar Press)

3. The original Jason fought Uber Jason in a sequel comic book

With only Freddy vs. Jason and the Friday the 13th reboot being released after Jason X, it didn’t seem likely there would ever be any sort of sequel to Jason’s adventures in space. Not in theaters, at least— it turns out that there are sequels that exist in print.

This includes the 2006 two-issue miniseries called Friday the 13th: Jason vs. Jason X, which was published by Avatar Press and written & illustrated by Mike Wolfer. The story sees a group of scavengers unknowingly reviving the curse of the evil of Jason Voorhees, regenerating the “classic” version of the character as seen in Crystal Lake.

The old Jason inevitably encounters the new, futuristic Uber Jason and the two engage in a vicious, brutal battle. Only one can survive, or maybe neither if their battleground plunges straight into Earth 2 as it’s set to do. Will one vanquish the either, or does nobody win such a battle?

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you the answer. This seems like a hard to find gem, and I haven’t actually read it yet. It does sound interesting, though, so let me know if you come across a copy.
