Top 5 Underrated Horror Movie Villains

We hear a lot about guys like Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, but there are other horror movie villains who deserve some love, too.
Not that Jason, Freddy, Michael, and the others aren’t worthy of their praise. We love these characters as much as any horror fan.
But sometimes, some excellent horror villains seem to be overlooked. So I’m going to take a minute to honor some of those who need more recognition.
With that said, here are the top five underrated horror movie villains.

5. Dr. Giggles (Dr. Giggles)
Dr. Giggles is a 1992 film which stars the late Larry Drake as a homicidal doctor. Nicknamed “Dr. Giggles” because of his obnoxious laughter, the doc goes on a killing spree after escaping from the looney bin.
As you can guess, the movie is partially a dark comedy. Drake slays as Dr. Giggles and the movie is genuinely very entertaining. Some of his kills are hilariously over the top. A key moment comes towards the end when Dr. Giggles breaks the fourth wall by speaking directly into the camera, asking for a doctor upon being wounded.
You won’t typically hear this film talked about much these days, but if it’s something you haven’t seen, you really should.
