3. Milla Jovovich did most of her own stunts

Resident Evil‘s star player Milla Jovovich is just as much of a badass behind the scenes as she is in front of the camera. With her insistence, the actress does practically all of her own stunts in the movie. Even that particularly awesome moment when she jumps off a wall to kick that zombie dog is all her. In fact, that one moment took her three months worth of training to perfect.

There’s only one scene in which Jovovich didn’t do her own stunts. This would be the part where Alice is doing the pipe jump in the sewer. Those on set were afraid she could be strangled by the hanging wires. So for that scene alone, she would use a stunt double— the rest of the flick is all her.

And the evidence of Jovovich’s work you’ll see right there on film. All of the minor scratches, cuts, bruises, and abrasions on her body are not special FX. No make-up was applied, meaning the actress pretty much got her ass kicked filming this movie.
