Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (Sony/Screen Gems)

13. Alice (Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil)

Alice’s journey begins in the very first Resident Evil film from Paul W. S. Anderson. Working as a security guard in the Umbrella Corporation’s secret lab, she’s there for ground zero of the T-virus outbreak. She learns that they are up to no good and works to expose them before something terrible happens. Her efforts fail as ultimately, the T-virus gets out and ravages Raccoon City.

The next five films in the series focus on Alice’s struggles with the Umbrella Corporation. Exposure to the virus have altered her own body, giving her much stronger capabilities. This sees her kicking ass for many more movies, meeting several notable RE characters along the way. She even feuds with Albert Wesker, the primary antagonist from the games.

By the final film in the franchise, Alice has lost her abilities and is back to being an ordinary human. But the threat of Umbrella still exists, and Alice is once again fighting to stop them once and for all. As this film just came out, I’m not going to tell you if she’s successful in her efforts. But I can tell you that even as a plain ol’ human, Alice is still the badass she has always been.
