3.Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis, Halloween franchise)

I’ve got to love Laurie Strode. As Michael Myers’ primary target of choice, she is one of the first resident of Haddonfield to notice him lurking around. He takes notice of her and stalks her, watching her from behind hanging sheets and neighborhood bushes. Laurie notices him watching her, but it isn’t until the killings begin when she realizes the trouble she is in.

So begins a long feud between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. Laurie’s friends are killed before Michael zeroes in on her. While trying to keep the children she’s babysitting safe, Laurie struggles to keep her own heart beating. Despite some very close calls with the man in the white mask, Laurie succeeds in getting the drop on Michael.

The Halloween franchise just wouldn’t be the same without Jamie Lee Curtis. Ever since appearing in the first movie in the series by John Carpenter, she’s become one of the most well known scream queens. She does so well in the role that she would reprise it in a direct sequel, then come back two decades later to appear in Halloween H20.

I’m purposely leaving Halloween: Resurrection off that list, as it’s best to not remember that hasty ending to the character.
