According to Entertainment Weekly, Sheriff Hopper is basically acting like the “middle man” for truth in Season 2. What that means is, Hopper’s attempting to protect Joyce Byers and the kids of Hawkins by keeping the events of last year a secret. As sheriff of Hawkins, Hopper is the one everyone will come to for the truth. But what will Jim tell?
“It kind of falls on Hopper to be the voice of authority to say, ‘This did happen and this didn’t happen,’” says actor David Harbour, who brings Hopper to life.“He’s struggling with the compromise that takes him to, having to lie and cover things up.”
