After spending most of last season looking for her son, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is moving on by taking up a new boyfriend. Now that Will is home safe and sound (hopefully), Season 2 will see Joyce finding love with Bob Newby (Sean Astin), a man she went to high school with.
“She’s trying to mask a lot,” explains Ryder to Entertainment Weekly. “I think she’s made this choice with Bob because she wants a good father figure in her sons’ lives.”
