Doug Bradley Reprising Pinhead Role For Horror Con

Doug Bradley is offering The Pinhead Experience for horror fans, giving them the chance to meet him in character as Pinhead.

Hellraiser star Doug Bradley is a fan favorite in the horror convention scene. He regularly does con appearances for autographs and photo ops. For years, he has been one of the most popular horror stars to meet at these cons. Although he no longer plays the role in the films, many fans still see him as the one and only Pinhead.

Bradley chose not to reprise his long-running role as Pinhead for Hellraiser: Revelations. In hindsight, that was an extremely wise decision on his part. But the role has been recast yet again for the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgment, with Paul T. Taylor taking in the pins. I’m sure Taylor will do a good job, but I still strongly miss seeing Bradley in the role.

Fortunately, Doug Bradley is once again reprising the legendary role! The news comes straight from Bradley’s Facebook account. Bradley is stepping into the makeup and costume once again for “The Pinhead Experience”, which will be held at Mad Monster Party in Arizona. And he’s giving fans the chance to meet him not as Doug Bradley, but as Pinhead himself!

Who wouldn’t wanna meet this guy?

Here’s how the post describes the experience:

"When fans and show organizers started to ask about the possibility of a Pinhead photo op with Doug a few years back, we dismissed it as an impossibility. Almost nothing relating to Pinhead existed anymore. No makeup. No costume. Not even a life cast. Besides, shaking hands and “posing” for a picture with Pinhead seemed like a silly idea. From Doug’s perspective, if he’s in make-up and costume, he’s in character. “Hi. How are you?’ doesn’t quite trip off The Prince Of Pain’s tongue, does it?The more time went on, the more the questions persisted and the more we talked about it. An idea evolved. If Pinhead can’t enter the fans’ world, how can we bring you into his? If we were to do it, we would want it to stand apart from the rest. It would need to be different. We began to talk about something a little more involved than the photo ops that most fans were used to. We wanted to present an experience and not just a photograph, as close to stepping on set with Doug as Pinhead as we could make it."

Along with the announcement comes a video teasing The Pinhead Experience. It shows some of the construction of Doug’s new costume, and it even has Tom Savini working on it! Can’t get much more legitimate than that. Check it out:
