8. There’s a major continuity error with Jason’s damaged eye socket
The biggest, most diehard Friday the 13th fans surely noticed this glaring issue in Part 9 right away. For others not paying such close attention to detail, this one might have gone unnoticed. In any case, I’m here to talk about it now.
In Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter, Jason takes a machete to the eye. It goes completely through, permanently destroying that eyeball. In the follow-up sequels, the directors had made it a point to maintain that continuity. Jason’s appearance always changes ever so slightly, but his eye damage has always remained the same.
That changes with Jason Goes to Hell. By mistake, they had put the eye damage on the wrong side, putting it on his right instead of the left. I’ll admit that it took me a while to first catch wind of this mistake, but once you know about it, you can never unsee it again.
For what it’s worth, the creators of Friday the 13th: The Game have done their part to rectify this. The Jason from this movie is playable in the game, and they mirrored the way he looks — that is to say, they fixed the error by putting the damage back on the left side.
