7. There was an official three issue comic book adaptation from Topps

There are many different comic books which feature Friday the 13th or Jason Voorhees. Some of them are pretty out there, including an actual “Jason vs. Jason X” comic. Jason has also fought Leatherface, Freddy, and Ash in some of these various comic books. But in the midst of all these is an official adaptation of the film Jason Goes to Hell.  The comics came out in the early 90s and many fans of the franchise may not realize they exist.

The comic book plot description is pretty close to the film, listing this synopsis:

“The FBI arrive in Crystal Lake and destroy the body of mass murderer Jason Voorhees, but Jason’s killing spree lives on when his black heart allows his evil to go from person to person.”

While the three issue series is very accurate to the film, it manages to fill in some of the movie’s blanks. Truly, what’s most weird about these is how… well, good they are. Not that they’re totally amazing — they just have surprisingly decent illustrations and writing for the time. I guess the story definitely works better in a comic book than in a feature film.
