Adam Green made “Hatchet 4” in secret, ‘Victor Crowley’ coming soon!!
By Joey Click
After reportedly ending the series in 2013, ‘Hatchet’ creator Adam Green has finished a fourth film in secret. Are you ready for more ‘Victory Crowley’!?
Hatchet Army….I can’t freaking believe this.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a legend is rising. After teasing a new film on his popular podcast, The Movie Crypt, Adam Green is shocking the world. Creator of modern horror’s biggest independent franchise, Green is continuing the Hatchet series with a fourth film! And guess what? IT’S ALREADY COMPLETED!!
It’s being reported that not only are we getting the sequel — simply titled Victor Crowley — the film is set ten years after the original trilogy. With Andrew Yong (Parry Shen) the only survivor of Crowley’s epic path, he’s been telling everyone who’s responsible for the bayou bloodbath for years. While no one believes his tale, Yong eventually returns to the swamp by chance — and resurrects Crowley in the process.
Does that sound brilliant? Here’s what Green is saying about the project in an interview with EW:
"“The only survivor that was ever found was Perry Shen’s character Andrew Yong, Now, ten years, later, he’s kind of become a little bit of a celebrity. At one point he’s compared to ‘the OJ Simpson of Honey Island Swamp’ because most people do not buy his story, but he got off because there was no evidence that he had done it.”"
Green, also know for 2010’s Frozen and the underrated Spiral, goes on to add:
"“So, some people love him, a lot of people hate him, and now he’s written a book, which he is promoting on the tenth anniversary of the events of 2007. He is convinced to do one final interview back at the scene of the massacre, where he has never returned. Simultaneously to him going back there with this camera crew, that’s going to interview him, there is something else happening that brings back a little certain somebody.”"

Victory Crowley premiered last night during “Hatchet 10th Anniversary Celebration,” a celebration of the franchise’s tenth anniversary. As for when we’ll all see the film, “Hatchet 4” is going a different route. Instead to releasing wide, Green is touring the film — much like Digging up the Marrow. Partnering with Dark Sky Films, the director is taking the project very seriously. Locations are being announced shortly.
Hatchet Army, my mind is freaking blown. I knew Green is readying a new film, hinting at it during The Movie Crypt’s George Romero tribute, but I never guessed this. While I’ve yet to see it, today is already one of the greatest days horror has ever known. And soon, Crowley rises again.
Victory Crowley stars Kane Hodder, Parry Shen and Laura Ortiz. Adam Green directs a screenplay by Green. Ariescope and Dark Sky Films produce, with distribution by Dark Sky. As soon as we know how to see the fourth Hatchet, you’ll be the first to know.
