Marvel Maniacs: 5 Marvel Comics villains ready for horrors of Halloween

facebooktwitterreddit

We’ve covered DC comics villains ready for Halloween. Now we will cover their competition, and arguably the more popular of the two main comic companies. The following is 5 Marvel comics villains who are ready for Halloween

Marvel comics is arguably the bigger company than DC as they’re owned by Disney, and arguably the more popular. After all there has been a Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time, and though Superman and Batman movies are in abundance, just now is DC starting their own cinematic universe.  Marvel comics have always taken place in real life locations (New York, California) whereas DC has normally had fictional cities modeled after real locations such as Metropolis for New York, and Gotham City for New Jersey.

Here are 5 Marvel villains (okay 4 of the 5 are Spider-man villains but hey he’s arguably the most popular Marvel character) that are ready for Halloween.

5. Jigsaw (The Punisher)

Billy “The Beaut” Russo was a notorious gangster who had a few run ins with Spider-Man. He was handsome until a run in with The Punisher leaves him horribly scarred. He is one of The Punisher’s very few recurring villains.  Now his face is a fright mask that can’t be taken off. I imagine no one takes any notice of how he looks on Halloween. Also, he kind of looks like Leatherface doesn’t he?

4. The Green Goblin

To date there has been four different men to take on the Green Goblin moniker. However for prosperity’s sake we’ll use the original Green Goblin, Norman Osborn for this example. Without question Norman Osborne’s Green Goblin was Spider-Man’s most dangerous foe. After all he knows Spider-Man is Peter Parker. The pic above is from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. As much as I love Sam Raimi, I will never understand why they went this route for The Green Goblin’s costume. His original costume is much more suited for Halloween. The weird Power Ranger/Mecha Green Goblin costume just looks awful heavy with limited mobility. Did I mention he throws “Pumpkin bombs”? Yep he’s ready for Halloween.

3. Hob Goblin

If he looks like a cheap Green Goblin knock off, that’s because he is. Roderick Kingsley stumbled upon one of Norman Osborn’s old Green Goblin hide outs. He stole the tech and secrets. He even uses the costume but changes the colors.  Also like the original Green Goblin there have been many to use the alias.

One difference is Hob Goblin improves the existing tech of pumpkin bombs.

2. Jack O’Lantern

Another eclectic villain from Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. The man’s name is Jack O’Lantern and he has a flaming one on his head. What could be more appropriate for Halloween? He is yet another villain who stole tech from the original Green Goblin. Ol’ Norman should have hidden his stuff better, but I digress. The best part about this villain is he hops around on what amounts to a high tech pogo ball (look it up youngsters).

5. Carnage

Carnage is a carnivorous alien symbiote. He is attached to Cletus Kasady. Did I mention he’s a cannibal? Yep, cannibalistic redneck. How often have we seen them in horror movies?
