At Sinister Creature Con this weekend, our friends at Bruce on the Loose podcast, Dino Lorenzo and Abby Fagan talked #bringbackboomstick with Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo of Ash vs Evil Dead with some surprising results!

Our friends from Bruce on the Loose podcast had the pleasure of attending the fabulous Sinister Creature Con this weekend. They had the great fortune of meeting up with Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo (aka Pablito and Kelly) from Ash vs Evil Dead.

With the news of Season 3 starting February 25, 2018 on Starz and Bruce Campbell stating that the show might not get a renewal, fans have been proactive with enthusiastically trying to save their favorite series. One of those individuals, Carlos Mazal created a petition at Change.org to rescue AVED.

After Bruce Campbell tweeted out that he signed, more fans jumped on board for the cause. Currently, the petition has over eleven thousand signatures. Prior to that effort, we here at 1428 Elm started encouraging fans with each article on AVED to #bringbackboomstick to Starz. Then much to our surprise this happened:

As a result, that particular article is at 6,210 views and climbing.

Joshua Mann of the Bruce Campbell Fan Club on Facebook created a page dedicated to an event on Friday October 13, for fans to rally together and blitz STARZ on Twitter and Facebook as a show of solidarity toward getting AVED a Season 4.

Emanuele Crivello and Dino Lorenzo created bringbackboomstick.com linking the petition and all information on the movement in a one stop internet shop.

Meanwhile, Abby Fagan and I came up with a video instructing fans on what to tweet to STARZ:

1. You dig the show.
2. “I downloaded the app.”
3. You have a STARZ subscription through your cable provider.
4. “I have bought the DVDs or Blu-rays.”
5. Renew the show for Season 4.

Sinister Creature Con Surprise

After the Friday 13th media event, fans were wondering if STARZ heard them. At the moment, STARZ hasn’t acknowledged anything but Ray Santiago got the message. When Dino and Abby were talking with him, he had this to say:

So, sweet Pablo heard AVED fans loud and clear. Later on that day, Ray issued the following tweet recognizing the petition:

The second day of the Sin Con was just as fabulous when Dana DeLorenzo told Abby and Dino that she knew all about the movement too! She also retweeted dedicated fan Anthony on Twitter:

The fact that Bruce, Ray and Dana have acknowledged what AVED fans are doing is what sets them apart from the stars of other shows. This is precisely why fans are going to such lengths to demonstrate their support.

Unfortunately, this is going to be an uphill battle but if fans can recruit new viewers to the show, have them sign the petition and #bringbackboomstick to STARZ on all social mediums we just might be able to get AVED a Season 4 renewal. Anything is possible!
