1. Sleepaway Camp (1983)

Felissa Rose stars in this 1983 horror flick in which she appear in what has to be the freakiest horror movie ending ever. In the film, Rose’s Angela and her cousin Ricky attend a summer camp, though she clearly doesn’t want to be there. One by one, those who do her wrongly start dying off, and it becomes apparent to everyone that somebody is killing people at camp.

Only in the end do we learn the true story about Angela. A flashback reveals that the real Angela is actually dead. Years earlier, she had died in a boating accident that also killed her father, leaving only her brother Peter alive. Sent to live with a psychotic aunt, the poor boy was forced to wear women’s clothing and take on the role of his dead sister.

Apparently, this messed with Angela’s mind to the point that it made her insane (yes, she’s Angela now, too late to go back to Peter). Angela reveals this to everyone else at camp after stripping completely naked and severing another camper’s head. She’s then found bloody and naked, with a sinister look on her face, and emitting this animalistic hissing sound that is guaranteed to be heard in your nightmares later after witnessing it.

Of course, the film ends right there — no epilogue or anything else to leave us with. Just the shocking realization of Angela’s true identity, and a freeze-frame of the freakiest looking face I’ve probably ever seen.
