Situated on the world famous, Las Vegas Strip, Fright Dome has become a destination for fans looking for thrills and chills during the Halloween season.

Last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas to visit the highly popular haunted attraction Fright Dome, located at the Circus Circus Casino and Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. Last year was my first year going and though I felt like there were some pros and cons to the experience, I was looking forward to seeing what Fright Dome would bring to the table for their 15th Anniversary.

I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised with what I experienced as each haunt showcased talent, creativity, and passion from those who have a love for haunted attractions. One thing to note about Fright Dome, and other haunts in Las Vegas, is that you have a guide that takes you through each of the haunts. I’m not sure why they have this role in Las Vegas but it actually adds to the overall experience.

Along with six haunted mazes, Fright Dome also boasts a plethora of scare zones, 25 rides and attractions, live shows, and much, much more in the 250,000 square foot arena. The following is my review of each of the mazes as I went through them, so sit back, relax, and read on to learn more about my experience.

HAPPY HELL-IDAYS

via Fright Dome

Description: ‘Tis the season…for pure evil. Fright Dome mastermind Jason Egan loves Halloween but we cannot forget about the other festive days of the year. Something wicked lurks within HAPPY HELL-IDAYS as Egan brings to life the most twisted of celebrations including Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and more. Do you dare to join the Thanksgiving feast? Or will you be the main course?

Thoughts: I absolutely loved this maze. From the set design to the scares, I really felt like Happy Hell-idays was one of the best haunts of the night. Adding to the enjoyment of this maze, our guide stayed in character the entire time and was an added source of scares and laughter throughout the duration of the haunt. Last year, I wasn’t overly impressed with this maze,  however, I really feel like the Fright Dome team up’d the ante this year to make the maze even more terrifying and for that, I’m grateful. All in all, Happy Hell-idays was a slam dunk of a haunt.

CHAINSAW MASSACRE

Description: In celebration of 15 years of terrifying the masses a Fright Dome favorite is back! Slicing into the darkness, CHAINSAW MASSACRE will make visitors face their fears and the jagged, bloody teeth of the saw blades. What lies ahead in the foggy haze?

Thoughts: There are certain things I believe have run their course. Chainsaws, clowns, and zombies. Sure these are staples within the horror genre, especially when it comes to haunted attractions, but they don’t have the same 1, 2 punch that they used to have. With that said, the execution of Chainsaw Massacre was pretty good, all things considered. Though I didn’t find myself scared, I still managed to be startled a few times and in the end was very impressed with the level of detail and creativity that went into the design of this haunt.
