1. Demon Winter (Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning)

Choosing an absolute favorite character in this franchise is a pretty difficult thing to do, but I absolutely love Demon. The older brother of Reggie the Reckless, Demon hangs out in a trailer near Pinehurst with his girlfriend Anita. Reggie and Pam visit Demon and Anita partway through the film, introducing us to one of horror’s all-time greatest characters.

Demon may have a funky name and look like a badass, but the man has a good heart. He’s overjoyed to see his little brother, offering him some enchiladas in the trailer. Unfortunately, those same enchiladas would moments later lead to Demon’s death, causing him to be trapped in an outhouse where he has no clue a maniacal killer is about to prey on him.

The relationship between Demon and Anita seems really fun and sweet. Even when he’s dealing with the, um, effects of enchiladas on his digestive system, Anita’s right there outside of the outhouse. She scares him in good fun before the two go into an impromptu song, singing, “Oooh, baby!” to each other. I’ve never seen anything so romantic. Guys, if you can find a girl that will sing to you while you’re battling Mexican food in the john, you need to put a ring on it!

Sadly, their song is cut short when Anita’s throat is slashed outside of the outhouse. After seeing her corpse, Demon’s badass facade crumbles and he’s left trembling and crying in fear. Ultimately there was no escape, leading to Demon being impaled through that dirty “shitbox” wall. I guess those enchiladas really were the death of him.
