More from A Nightmare on Elm Street

After the surprising success of A Nightmare on Elm Street, a sequel was quickly pushed forward without the involvement of creator Wes Craven (the biggest mistake of all). Leaving behind the Nancy character, Freddy’s dead focuses on Jesse, a teen who movies into the old Thompson house. After, some spank of men’s asses ensues…

While the film is a heated topic in the horror community, there’s one part everyone, including Craven, agrees is a huge fail. Towards the end of the film, Freddy emerges out of Jesse and attracts a bunch of teens at a pool party. Yes, you read that right in case you blocked it from your mind, Freddy comes out into the real world.

It’s almost shocking how Shaye and company could have been so dumb. The biggest problem is the audience’s trust. You tell us there are certain rules, and we agree to go on this journey if we accept, but then you break those rules and leave the audience in disgust. Freddy in reality isn’t just one of the worst moments in the series, it’s one of the worst in horror history.
