Fight the Future with a Game
For those of you that can’t get enough of the X-Files, you are about to be in seventh heaven! Not only will you be getting the tv series on Fox on January 3, 2018 but you will also be getting the mobile game Deep State in February.
According to TV Web, Creative Mobile out of Tallinn, Estonia in conjunction with FoxNext Games will be releasing Deep State just in time to celebrate the show’s twenty fifth anniversary.
The website is fun and immediately draws you in to a world of conspiracy and secrets. Right off the bat, you are tasked with assembling a shredded top-secret government document that may involve Fox Mulder. It is an RPG, and you get to be an FBI Special Agent.
However, Mulder and Scully are not part of this venture. You will be paired up with Special Agent Dale. Much like the series, as a player you will get to delve into the mythological arc of the X-Files. You will also get to be involved in standalone episodes as well.

FoxNext is also responsible for a game that I played quite regularly on my phone, Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff. The same concept of different events each month will also pertain to Deep State. You will be tasked with solving various cases.
Just like in Family Guy, the X-Files game will feature favorite characters of the tv series. Players get to choose various outcomes that could figure heavily in the course of the storyline. You see an example of this type of interaction on the website when you are asked if Director Bowman is telling the truth or a lie.
Timelines Past and Future
Back in 1998, I was the proud owner of the X-Files game for Windows 95. Wow. That is a blast from the past. The best part about that exercise was the fact that you were in an episode with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
It was so cool to feel like you were an active participant and going along for the ride, so to speak. This particular game took place within the timeline of the third season of the series. Deep State, takes place between season nine and ten.
This clip is pretty amazing! Season eleven and Deep State can’t come soon enough. The game is free to play with in-app purchases and will be available on the App Store, Google Play and Facebook.
