Horror in 2018: Top 5 upcoming horror films I’m dying to see

1. Halloween (Oct. 19, 2018)
Directed by David Gordon Green
Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Castle, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak
The movie I’ve been wanting for many years but never thought I would actually get is, of course, going to take the top spot on this list. 2018’s Halloween will literally be taking the franchise back to its roots after countless sequels and a rebooting process by Rob Zombie. So far back that it’s even going to the original two films, serving as a direct sequel and ignoring everything which came after.
Ever since Halloween: Resurrection came out, I’ve been bummed as hell about Laurie Strode’s lackluster death scene. To force out another movie, Halloween H20‘s perfect ending had to be retconned, leading to a crummy sequel which saw Laurie getting killed by her own stupidity in the opening scenes of the film. It’s just offensive for longtime fans of the series, and really, the only way to make up for it is by throwing that out and trying again.
Not only is Jamie Lee Curtis returning, but John Carpenter himself is on board as well. He’s executive producing, serving as a creative consultant, and even scoring the soundtrack himself. There’s literally no other way to make this return to Haddonfield any more legitimate, and I’m very much looking forward to one last real Halloween movie.
