For many fans, this classic poster is an absolute favorite. Indeed, despite its simplicity, the poster is simply beautiful. It features the now-iconic mask sitting in a puddle of fresh blood. A knife is stuck in the eye hole of the mask, hinting that, this time, Jason is finally going to die. It goes along with the subtitle of the film, The Final Chapter, as Paramount genuinely intended for Jason to be killed off for good after this film.

By the time Part 4 rolled around, everyone knew about Jason and the mask. By seeing this poster, moviegoers bought tickets wondering just how the masked maniac would finally be destroyed once and for all. That obviously wouldn’t stick, but in 1984, they didn’t know just how many more sequels would come.
