Jesse Walsh from the prior film is an awesome guy, but many Nightmare fans were really missing Heather Langenkamp’s Nancy Thompson. Additionally, the sad truth about Freddy’s Revenge was that it was not quite as successful as its predecessor. With this in mind, Langenkamp was brought back to star in another sequel, and this time, Wes Craven was brought back as well to pen the script. Further rewrites brought the story pretty far away from Craven’s original idea for it, but many Freddy fans consider this to be one of the best in the series.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors introduces the concept of Freddy’s victims using their own dream powers to fight back against Freddy. This is hinted at on the official poster, which shows some of the “Dream Warriors” preparing to do battle against the dream demon himself. This artwork has always been rather gorgeous in my opinion and any retro horror fan would agree.
