Nearly a decade would pass before Chucky would be featured in another movie. Although the prior film has a cult following, it didn’t reach the level of success the studio was hoping for. So when another movie was finally given the green light, Don Mancini chose to move away from the dark comedy of the prior entries, taking Child’s Play back to its roots.
In Curse of Chucky, wheelchair-bound Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) receives a mysterious package in the mail containing a Good Guy doll. Of course, this turns out to be the killer doll Chucky, who’s targeted Nica and her family. The creepy poster features Chucky adorning the lap of the new protagonist of the series, carrying a much darker vibe than what we’ve seen before.
