Attention to Detail (SO1EP06)

Sheila (Drew Barrymore) is worried that the crook, Loki, will return home and Dan the cop (Ricardo Chavira) would find out he’s not dead.  Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Shelia watch Loki’s house for a couple of days. When he doesn’t return, they decide they’re going to lie and tell Dan they did kill him.

That evening at a friendly neighborhood barbeque, Joel convinces Dan the deed is done.  Dan believes them, but he’s not done with them yet. Using this murder as more fuel for his blackmail, he demands they kill a sex trafficker for him.

More from Netflix

The Hammond’s daughter, Abby (Liv Hewson), and the neighbor, Eric (Skyler Gisondo), are in Dan’s (Eric’s stepdad) garage goofing off when they happen to find a secret door that contains cash and illegal weapons. Eric see’s that Dan is not only a jerk of a person but a crooked cop to boot. Kids being kids, they steal some of his stolen cash.

Sheila is happy when Joel tells her they must kill again on Dan’s behalf, believing he’s feeding her and cleaning up the streets. Suddenly, she realizes they lost one of their Realtor pens, with all their information, at Loki’s house. Not wanting to leave evidence behind, Joel heads off to the criminal’s house once again and Sheila goes to her next kill.

Just as she’s ready to pounce on the guy, her neighbor Lisa, who is also Dan the cop’s wife, (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) jumps on the guy plastering him with affection. She spots Shelia and asks her what she’s doing there. It turns out, Lisa is having an affair with this guy and he’s not a criminal after all. Sheila almost killed an innocent man. Informing Joel what happened, he confronts Dan the cop. Dan threatens Joel, telling him he’ll have Sheila locked away for life. Joel won’t stand for his own family being the fall guy and takes matters into his own hands.
