Scream queen of the 80’s and horror goddess Linnea Quigley might be penning a new down and dirty biography.

“I never wanted a sugar-coated life.” – Linnea Quigley

The Ultimate Kick-Ass Babe

I was fortunate enough to have lived through the “golden age of horror.” The 80s were a great time for slashers, thrillers and all types of goretastic chillers. Carpenter, Craven, Cronenberg, Hooper, Raimi and Romero were the powerhouse directors.

This was the time when PG-13 was not as prevalent and you could still get the crap scared out of you by the likes of Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. What would a terrifying film be without a scream queen?

Linnea Quigley was one of the reigning women of the day. Whenever I think of those tough as nails chicks that could give any of those bad guys a run for their money, her name readily springs to mind. Who can forget that iconic image of her as “Trash” dancing naked on top of the crypt in The Return of the Living Dead?

“Trash” was a girl who wouldn’t let Jason, Freddy or Michael get the best of her without a fight. Remember, she could handle a chainsaw like a real badass! In looking at her extensive filmography, you know that she probably has scores of stories about life on and off the set.

The Low-Down

Well, her fans may be in luck because Linnea is considering writing another book! Fans of hers are very familiar with her literary efforts. She has written several biographies (The Linnea Quigley Bio & Chainsaw Book, I’m Screaming as Fast as I Can: My Life in B-Movies) as well as a work of fiction, Night of the Scream Queen: Kiss of the Gator-Guy and an interesting limited edition, Linnea: Skin.

Yesterday on Twitter, the actress asked her followers if they would want to read an “all-new down and dirty biography?” Adding further enticement, she stated that she was “working on something but first gotta see how many people would want it.”

Majority of her admirers responded with “YES!” Even some of Quigley’s colleagues chimed in, including another famous chainsaw wielding person.

No doubt that any tales that she would tell about the hey-days of horror would be fascinating and her experiences with notable gurus like Dan O’Bannon, Kevin S. Tenney and Wes Craven would make for a definite page turner.

Here’s to hoping we see her memoirs coming soon to Amazon and bookstores everywhere!
