5. Renegade – Styx (S01 E06 The Killer of Killers)

Styx was one of my favorite rock bands in the 70’s and 80’s. I loved the album Pieces of Eight which is where this tune originated from. It also fits as a theme for Ash and the Ghostbeaters because they are renegades running down Deadites.

This is another episode that I enjoyed mostly because of the awesome bathroom fight sequence between Ash and Amanda Fisher. Fisher believes that Ash is the serial killer that she is looking for.

He tries to convince her that he isn’t the one she should be taking down but they end up wrestling. In the end, Amanda wins and cuffs him. Before they can exit the restaurant, all hell breaks loose and Deadite carnage ensues.

Now, Fisher sees that Ash isn’t the culprit. She also realizes that there is some sexual tension between them. Ash is very attracted to her and while they are talking he starts to fantasize that she wants to take him into the bathroom for a little something-something.

Another discovery that we make is that Kelly is turning into a badass warrior. Ash and Pablo watch in admiration as she slices a demon’s face in half with a deli slicer. Then she also gets primeval with a meat tenderizer.

At the end of the show, Renegade plays after Ash asks Amanda to join the fight against the Deadites.
