American Horror Story Apocalypse trailer: The chaos has won

The American Horror Story FX official trailer dropped yesterday. It is the end of the world and the chaos has won.

“No need for the rules anymore.”

Where Do We Begin?

American Horror Story starts its eighth season on FX with a bang, literally. Deadline posted the official trailer yesterday and it is a doozy. Apparently, there has been some catastrophic event that has caused the people in Santa Monica to run screaming like aliens are invading the planet.

Billy Eichner is evidently upset because Coco left him stranded amidst the chaos and she is a b**** for doing that. Meanwhile, Joan Collins, Evan Peters and Leslie Grossman are on a jet that crashes.

They end up at Outpost 3 where they are greeted by a gothic looking Sarah Paulson costumed in an 1800s gown looking like a very stern librarian. There are hazmat suits and the place where Paulson resides looks like a maze in the depths of hell.

From what I gather it must be the apocalypse because every time the world ends, civilization reverts back to the 19th century. In Sarah Paulson’s home, there are rules. If you don’t abide by them expect some drastic consequences.

“You may never leave the building.” “No unauthorized copulation.” Well, judging by half the people in the Outpost they are at that critical age when hormones are ruling their decisions. There are quite a few people who disobey.

We see several guys getting whipped and Joan Collins gets backhanded along with another male. While all this is going on, Kathy Bates is wandering around looking like Wednesday Addams all grown up. There is something very disconcerting about Ms. Bates in black lipstick looking like she is a member of a secret underground club.

Did Someone Say Satan?

Plus, it would appear that someone might have committed some unauthorized copulation because a boy and girl dressed like pilgrims are about to be executed in a field. Evan Peters asks the question, “What’s going on out there?” It’s all gone is his answer.

It has to be noted that Evan with his new platinum do looks like he has escaped an old Hammer movie from the 60s or he is the reincarnation of a groovy, blonde Roddy McDowall. Rubber man makes an appearance on the ceiling because he can do that.

There are cannibalistic zombies and the Coven makes an entrance while people are lying on the floor. However, the best scene occurs at the end. Kathy Bates with a sly smirk on her face says, “Hail, Satan!”

I have to say that this trailer has me excited for season 8. It is going to be weird and wonderful. Fans of the show are already trying to decipher the location of the house, why people can see Rubber Man and Tate Langdon so get ready for those Reddit forums and threads.
