FBI shuts down Sunspot Solar Observatory suddenly, gives no solid reason

Last year, a report revealed that our government had been secretly funding the search for extraterrestrial intelligence for several years. Yet, officials still prefer to keep us in the dark.

The continent runs on secrets and it would seem there’s another one brewing in New Mexico. A big observatory in the southwestern United States was evacuated on Sunday and the big question is, “Why?”

Let’s back up just a bit. The facility in question is the Sunspot Solar Observatory near the Sacramento Mountains in New Mexico. According to Fox News, the building was unexpectedly closed when, according to some witnesses, a Black Hawk helicopter showed up with the FBI. They released an official statement:

"“The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) is addressing a security issue at the National Solar Observatory facility at Sacramento Peak, New Mexico and has decided to temporarily vacate the facility as a precautionary measure. AURA, which manages Sacramento Peak with funding from NSF, is working with the proper authorities on this issue. We have no further comment at this time.”"

Unfortunately, that statement doesn’t give us a lot of information. A recent update on the story by Dailymail UK mentioned a possible mercury leak from one of the massive, high-powered telescopes, but the observatory has since denied that a mercury spill was the cause of the evacuation. An interview statement from the observatory’s director, R.T. James McAteer with the Alamogordo Daily News elaborated.

"“There’s no mercury incident. That’s a completely different set of protocols that would not have involved them locking all the doors. We have a very regular maintenance routine. There is no cause for concern there.”"

The FBI states that a security concern was the cause for their appearance and the evacuation of the Sunspot Solar Observatory but no information regarding why they were concerned was given. The sheriff of Otero County, Benny House, told the Alamogordo Daily News:

"“The FBI is refusing to tell us what’s going on. We’ve got people up there (at Sunspot) that requested us to standby while they evacuate it. Nobody would really elaborate on any of the circumstances as to why. The FBI were up there. What their purpose was nobody will say.”"

He continued with what he witnessed:

"“But for the FBI to get involved that quick and be so secretive about it, there was a lot of stuff going on up there. There was a Blackhawk helicopter, a bunch of people around antennas and work crews on towers but nobody would tell us anything.”"

The secrecy is making people wonder just WHAT is the FBI up to at the Sunspot Solar Observatory? While the workers there vehemently deny the fact that it’s aliens (“I’m not saying it was the aliens, but it was the aliens.”) that still leaves us with no answers.

Do you think the observatory was shut down because of alien activity or an issue concerning national security (which is exponentially scarier)? Let us know your opinions in the comment section below.
