1. Poltergeist (1982)

In Poltergeist, Steven Freeling (Craig T. Nelson) lives in a quiet neighborhood with his wife, Diane (JoBeth Williams), and their three children, Carol Anne (Heather O’Rourke), Robbie (Oliver Robins), and Dana (Dominique Dunne) but that all changes when an entity from the other side pays Carol Anne a visit through their static television screen and later wreaks havoc.

Just when they thought the paranormal events were over, it happens again. Just before Robbie heads to bed, he tries to conceal a creepy clown doll that sits on a chair in front of his by throwing a jacket over it but to no avail—it falls on the floor.

When he lays down, pulling his comforter over him, the creepy clown doll comes to life and drags him under the bed.
