Freddy and Jason are taking over a mall near you this Halloween!

You may have noticed this pattern if you’ve gone to your local mall this year. It would seem that Freddy vs Jason has made a deliberate – and by far altogether welcomed – come back this Halloween! This seems to be the year of Freddy and Jason!

It’s Halloween! Now, pause a moment and get this. Today, I was going through the local mall and minding my own obscene business when my little eye did so spy something unexpected inside Hallmark. Two adorable little plush Freddy vs Jason figures. In Hallmark of all places!

This is quite a day to be alive as a horror fan. Would you have ever believed that Hallmark would ever license out the Springwood Slasher of children and the Camp Blood murderer of teens?

All of this is just too much for me to comprehend almost! I’m not talking about Hot Topic or Spencer’s, you know, the two stores that you would expect to see these guys haunting. Hallmark – family friendly, your dear sweet mother’s – Hallmark!

Gotta be real with you guys. Back in first grade, I was dying to have my very own Freddy or Jason toy. Now thanks to NECA that childhood dream has come true.

But this year fans can also go into Spirit Halloween stores and buy Freddy vs Jason socks, shirts, hats, and even tote bags. I’m drinking coffee from my awesome Friday the 13th mug! Look at this thing.

Shirts of our favorite slasher duo are available at Hot Topic. As are plushies, blankets, bath bombs, and (can you even believe it) eyeshadow! Now all my fellow goths can make themselves up with the tears and blood of the slaughtered victims of either Elm Street or Camp Crystal Lake.

It’s true that all of us are aching to see the murderous return of Michael Myers, the original Bogeyman. But I don’t think Freddy or Jason go that memo because they are doing what they do best – cutting things up. Mainly our budgets, the true horror of horrors!

But let’s be honest – we all know it’s worth it. Freddy vs Jason is celebrating a fifteen-year anniversary this year (as of last August) and this Halloween is taking full advantage of it. So treat yourself, my Nasties.

dark. Next. Super 7 will premiere Superbuckets line at New York Comic Con

Put on a comfy pair of Freddy vs Jason socks, fill your Jason mug with some hot cider, then curl up under your Freddy blanky for an all-night movie marathon from both beloved horror franchises.
