8) Snatch – The Brick Top Scenes (Alan Ford as Brick Top)

More from Lists

When you think of Brits, what image normally comes to mind? Probably a somewhat well-dressed, polite gentleman saying things like “Cheerio!,” and maybe a well placed, ” ‘Ello, Guv’na!” If that’s not enough, I’ve heard them pronounce “Godzilla” like “Godziller,” which is cringe-worthy but far from intimidating. However, Brick Top from the movie Snatch is a special case of someone seeming MORE villainous because of his British accent, and he helps make Snatch into a more unforgettable gangster film. I mean, even though he’s humorous, he comes off as just plain menacing and vile.

Quite simply, Brick Top is one of the greatest villains of all time, yet some have never heard of him. Well, I’ll just let him explain why he’s so great, in his own words: “Do you know what ‘nemesis’ means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent, personified in this case by a ‘orrible ***t – me.”

Finally, there’s his noteworthy advice on getting rid of bodies: “You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies’ digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don’t want to go sievin’ through pig ***t, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, ‘as greedy as a pig’.”

If that’s not a ‘orrible chap, I don’t know who is!

9) American History X – Curb Stomp

American History X is considered a drama, and it definitely is. However, it is a gang-related drama, and a key scene in this film will put anyone with a pulse on edge. This is, of course, the curb stomp scene, where white supremacist gang leader Danny Vinyard (Edward Norton) kills Lawrence (Antonio David Lyons). It is a brutal, impactful scene, and helps remind us of the possible horrors of racist violence.
