A Gift for the Fans

RS (Cont.): I was also into the fact that it was a horror movie that I had never seen done before. It’s a simple concept and I thought how are we going to do this? How are we going to keep people’s attention for so long?

I was excited to be a part of it. It has a nostalgic 90’s or early 2004 feel like Scream. In the way that it looked and, in the way, that everyone talked.

It also came around the time that Ash vs Evil Dead was cancelled and I could sense that fans were really sad to lose my presence on the show and on television. I wanted to keep it going.  The director Paul Davis was a very huge fan of Ash, he said when he saw that I had auditioned, he said hands down, I want him.

For me it was a gift for the fans. I thought I can do this and the challenge will be to do it differently. And to play a different character but still keep it in the same genre.

It was super fun and I became best friends with Aurora (Perrineau) and David (Hull) and Paul our director and the other Paul (Fischer) the writer. So, I was really excited about it.
